Sorry I'm not sorry if I sound like a broken record. I'm now onto week two of Couch to 5k, courtesy of the awesome iPhone app. I'm not going to lie and say that I love running. I will probably never be one of "those people." However, I can totally appreciate what I've accomplished once it's over. It might take me longer than 9 weeks to accomplish a 5k, but hey. Slow and steady wins the race, baby.
Sassy pants. I've been doing Zumba 2-3 times a week, which is a pretty fun way to sweat and burn a decent amount of calories. Although it's fairly low impact considering I'm taking it with a bunch of old ladies (don't get me wrong, I give those women credit for exercising well into their 60s and 70s! You go, girls!), it's still better than nothing! If you haven't tried Zumba, do it. You might look stupid, but so will everyone else.
Mine's actually white with dark pink and orange polka dots, and therefore WAY cooler, but whatever. I got one of these at Beall's outlet for a whopping $3.99 (this pink one is available at Target for $12.99, but Walmart had some cute printed ones for $6). If you have trouble drinking enough water, this will fix that problem, guaranteed. It's 20 ounces, and I probably fill it three or four times a day. It's especially refreshing to throw a slice of lemon into it for the day, or an on-the-go packet of lemonade.
These particular running capris are from Old Navy (I ordered the bermuda version the other day, along with a coordinating sports bra and tanks... obviously), but the ones I've been rocking came from Walmart, of all places, for $12. There's nothing worse than running in shorts and having to pull them down constantly, so even though it's 80 and sunny by 8am (yes, I do get up between 7:30-7:45 to work out. Who am I?), I much prefer running in capris because they. don't. move. Also, a thick waistband is a must. Pants that are too loose in the waist are just as annoying that shorts that ride up your ass.
Are we sensing a theme yet? I'm so boring, but this summer is all about ME. No classes, no work. I have all the time in the world to focus on my health and fitness, and have no excuses. I'm already 5 pounds down, so I must be doing something right.
Congrats on losing 5lbs already! :-) I also own a pair of $12 running pants from Walmart and I love them.
