Wishlist Wednesday?

I'd like to start off with my annoyance of the day, considering it wouldn't be true Lauren fashion if I wasn't complaining about SOMETHING, right? Anyways. So, I'm taking a summer class at my college, which means I have about a 40 minute commute to class. The class is a little over two hours, so I don't mind making the drive if I'm going to be there for a decent chunk of time. So I'm getting off of the exit and I call my friend to let her know I'm on my way to her house. Her response? "Oh... I forgot, we don't have to be at class until 12." Our class is 11 to 1:10. Thanks for leaving out that vital piece of information! Because let's face it, if I knew class was only going to be an hour long, I most likely would not have wasted the gas to drive out here (yes, I am writing this in class, of course). No, it's not the end of the world, but it did annoy me, because I rushed out the house for... well, nothing.

But I digress. As I am trying to get this blog off the ground, I was thinking of different things I could post about in the coming week or so. I toyed with the idea of themed posts and questioned whether or not it was totally cheesy. Obviously, I'm not going to have a theme for every day of the week, but I thought maybe to get some posts going, it wouldn't be a terrible idea.

As you already know if you've read my first post, I am a hopeless shopaholic. However, considering I am currently unemployed, this has put a damper on my spending. When I'm making money, I tend to spend it like it's going out of style. I have been DYING to go on a shopping spree. So I thought maybe my first post could be wishlist Wednesday. I was going to post one thing that I'm obsessed with, but then I thought why not just post what I want for my birthday? August 6th, feel free to take notes.

First of all, I am obsessed with this dress from gojane.com. Ever since Alexis wore that orange silk dress to Vicki's party during the Real Housewives finale (yes, I went there), I've been into orange. I found this yesterday, and I can't stop thinking about it.

Cute, right? Check out the cut out design on the back, too. I have a wedding to go to in August, and I thought it might be cute. Especially with...

These BCBGeneration gold wedges, which are available at both Zappos and Piperlime. I saw them on Tara's friend (check her blog out!), left a comment raving about them, and she was nice enough to tell me where she purchased them. I've been looking for a great pair of wedges without an ankle strap, because let's face it, ankle straps are just NOT that flattering... especially when your calves are as rock hard as mine (don't ask me where they came from, as I never played a sport when I was younger). I wear my ankle strap shoes with jeans, but that's about it. Plus, who doesn't love gold?! And I think the pairing of orange and gold would look pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

Continuing on with this trend of "things Lauren wants," here is my current birthday wishlist. Again... August 6th. Just saying.

Ah, yes. I am one of the few people in the world still living in the stone age with my LG Voyager (I didn't realize how good I had it with my env2). For awhile, I thought smartphones were stupid and a waste of money, but now everyone has one, and I feel left out. There, I said it. I want to be like everyone else. I have an iPod touch and I love it, but I think it's time to bite the bullet and commit myself to the dreaded $30 data plan. Might as well kill two birds with one stone here, right? So yes, an iPhone is #1 on my list.
Urban Decay Naked Palette -- $48

This is another thing that although I liked the idea of it, I kind of scoffed at the price. But the more I look at it, the more I want it. These are basically all of the colors I would wear on a daily basis (...not all at the same time, of course), and if I were to buy these colors individually, it would obviously cost WAY more than $48. Plus, you get a travel size Primer Potion, which I've wanted to try for awhile anyways.

Okay, seriously. I've been obsessed ever since I took the first whiff. The scent is very light and airy, which I prefer in a perfume. I'm not one of those people who switches their perfume to match the seasons, but it IS a great scent for summer. I still have an entire bottle of my beloved Betsey Johnson, but why not switch it up once in awhile, right? Right.

Fossil Stella -- $105

I started off obsessed with the Michael Kors version, which I tried on at Lord and Taylor the other day. Although it's gorgeous, the face was pretty overpowering on my tiny child-sized wrists, so I decided to try on Fossil's version. Aside from the $145 price difference, the Fossil suited my wrist better. My mom offered to buy it for me while we were shopping because she had a coupon, but I couldn't commit. I would have had to have a link or two taken out, which would make the watch a final sale. The words "final sale" scare me. I am a ridiculous impulse buyer, and I return probably 75% of the stuff that I buy. So although I love it, I want to make sure I'm actually going to wear it before buying it. I haven't worn a watch in YEARS, so I might wear one of my mom's (she actually bought the Anne Klein version while we were shopping. Now you know where I get it from) to make sure I actually LIKE wearing one. But boy, is it pretty.

So those are the "big" things I want. I was originally going to ask for money to see Dave Matthews Band in NYC, but I realized that a) it would be too much money (asking for a $200 ticket is one thing, but I would also need money for gas, a hotel, and food. The more I thought about it, I realized that it would easily turn into at least a $500 weekend), and b) I get back to New York on Wednesday, and would have to leave Friday morning for the concert. School starts on Monday, so I would literally have no time to move into my new house and would probably miss the first day of classes. Now, if you know me at all, you'd know that I'm not one to worry about missing class... especially when DMB is concerned. But I figured I'd make the responsible choice and just wait to see them the next time they tour. Let's face it, I've seen them about 10 times. Although I've never been to NYC (you heard that correctly, a New Yorker who's never been to NYC) and it would be amazing, I'd rather put that money towards an iPhone and the other beauties I posted.

10 more minutes of class, and then I'm off to meet a friend at the mall to dig through bins of cheap underwear. Yes, that's right, folks. The Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual started yesterday, and I am in need of some retail therapy.
