Weaknesses.

I'm pretty disciplined when it comes to dieting. Like I've mentioned before, I lose weight when I'm conscious (read: neurotic) about what I eat. Of course, if I'm putting myself through a pretty strict diet, it's for a reason. I'm not going to screw it up, because I obviously want results.

There are two kinds of people in the world: carb maniacs and those that can live without them. Very rarely do I crave pasta or bread. I'll tell people I'm not eating carbs and they ask how I'm surviving. Sure, it gets a little tedious because let's face it, 95% of foods (or so it seems) have carbs in them. Low-carb diets require a lot of thinking and creativity, but they're totally doable. I do have one major carby weakness, though: rice. Yellow, white, brown, wild - I'm pretty much down for any type. I try to stay away from it, because I'm somewhat of a bottomless pit. Put a bowl of wild rice on the table and please smack my hand if i go in for seconds... or thirds.

On Friday, I wasn't supposed to be home for dinner, so my mom and brother (who is quite the chef) had planned on making fancy enchiladas. I LOVE Mexican food. I'm totally fine with piling on the fillings of a taco onto a bed of lettuce, but let's face it. It's kind of boring without black beans and rice. Since my mom knew I'd be drooling, they had planned to make the meal on a night I wouldn't be home. Well, a little thing called mother nature decided to stand in my way of leaving the house on Friday. It snowed all day (it took my brother just under two hours to drive 20 miles to work), so I stayed bundled up inside. My mom later ventured to Wegmans to pick up a piece of haddock for my dinner, which was fine. I ate my fish, which was good, but kept eying the enchiladas and rice. I've learned that if you want something, you might as well have a little bit, otherwise you'll be driving yourself crazy. So I said the hell with it, and had a bit of rice and half of an enchilada. So good, and it totally hit the spot.

My second cheat of the week was eating up the leftover rice. Seriously, I'm not kidding. If there's rice in the house, I'll eat it. I still managed to lose 3 pounds this week, though. Sometimes I think that switching things up occasionally and jump starting your metabolism while dieting can be a great thing. There have been a few times when I've been super strict, and then had a few days of crazy eating, and I've always managed to lose even more weight. Weird, but I'm not complaining.

I also had two chocolate chip cookies tonight. My mom makes the best chocolate chip cookies (seriously, challenge her to a bake off... she'll cream you), and no self-respecting person can sit with a plate full of homemade cookies and not eat one. Or two. It's just not possible.

Everyone has that one food that they can't resist. What's yours?
