Another year has passed. I turned the exciting 2-4 on Saturday. I'm not sure which is more random: 23 or 24. All I have to look forward to is my insurance dropping next August, and I just saved $350 by switching to Geico (yes, I am a walking commercial. Suck it, State Farm), so it can't be too exciting of a decrease. It's crazy to think that when I first starting driving, my insurance was around $2,000 a year. Now it's around $650. If that isn't a sign that you're getting old, I don't know what is.
I went to a wedding on Saturday, so that was a nice excuse to dress up and get out of the house. Let's face it, birthdays get pretty lame after you've had 24 of them, so it was nice to pass the torch onto my best Florida friend! The adventure started out a little shaky due to my GPS not knowing where the church was and taking me in the opposite direction of where I needed to be. To be honest, I wasn't really dying to sit in a church for an hour (I told my friend I was sorry if I caused the church to blow up in flames the minute I stepped through the door), but I obviously put my feelings aside to be there for my friend. I felt really bad for missing the ceremony, due to a) my stupid GPS, b) my complete lack of direction. Ohh, central Florida. Why must everything be so spread out and in the middle of nowhere?
I found the reception fine and got there as other guests were arriving, so it all worked out. It was my first solo wedding as an adult, but I knew all of the girls sitting at my table because we were all at the bachelorette party. So at least I wasn't completely alone! That would have been awkward.
My aunt came down to surprise my Nana for her 80th birthday, which was on the 1st. We had a party for her and then took a few day trips. I could probably live on the beach. Wouldn't be too shabby. My brother is coming today for my mom's birthday, which is tomorrow. Didn't we all coordinate our births so well? All of the girls have August birthdays (my aunt's is the 17th, which was also my other Nana's birthday).
The grand weight loss total is around 8 pounds. I kind of fell off of the beaten path due to birthday celebrations, the wedding, and boredom, but I'm going to keep on chugging along. I'm back on phase one to negate any overeating in the past week or so. I haven't been running because I'm lazy, but I'm still Zumba-ing.
That's about it. How is it August 10th already? Gross.
